Index – Abroad – Bratislava government decides that all Slovak residents will be tested for coronavirus

The Slovak government has accepted the proposal to implement massive tests. This was announced after the extraordinary meeting of the government of Defense Minister Jaroslav Naď, writes New Word. The head of the ministry said that the authorities have at their disposal thirteen million antigen tests. Approximately fifty thousand people will participate in the test stations for mass testing. The mayors will receive all the necessary information in the coming days to prepare for the tests in their municipalities.

According to the Slovak Statistical Office as of June 2020, the country’s population is 5,460,136.

Jaroslav Naď also spoke about the fact that the first so-called pilot tests will be carried out in the four districts that are in the worst situation in terms of epidemic. The Minister recalled that

A decision was made, but more and more countries began to work on ideas for national tests.

There are currently 29,835 coronavirus infections in Slovakia. So far, the disease has claimed the lives of 88 people.

About 6,000 test points will be installed in which 7 people will take samples.
