An antigen test will be used that can detect the current infection in 15 minutes. It is less accurate than PCR tests, but has the advantage of being able to detect the most infectious people with high efficiency. It has not yet been decided whether it will be mandatory to participate in the tests, but Matovic said that if it does not materialize, he will resign.
In Slovakia, the number of registered cases is increasing dramatically and the proportion of positive tests has averaged 13 percent in the last seven days. According to the recommendation of the World Health Organization (WHO), the epidemic can be considered controlled below 5 percent.
