In accordance with the Decree, the Minister shall issue the regulations for the organization and operation of the General Directorate, as well as its modifications, in a normative instruction with the prior approval of the Prime Minister. The Director General of the National Hospital is appointed and dismissed by the Prime Minister on the Minister’s proposal.
It will be the responsibility of the Minister during the emergency
- Issue the organizational and operational regulations of OKF normativa in a normative instruction, with the approval of the Prime Minister,
- propose to the Prime Minister the appointment or removal of the Director General of the National Hospital,
- determine the CEO’s salary,
- and exercise the rights of the employer over those who work in the health institutions dependent on the General Directorate.
The government decree on the establishment of the General Directorate of National Hospitals was published in the November 17 edition of the Hungarian Gazette. He affirmed that the task of the General Directorate is to “supervise the operation of the health care system, lay the foundations for strategic government decisions regarding its review, within the framework of which it contributes to the development of a new national system for the management of unified and transparent health “.
On November 18, the decision of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was published, also in the Hungarian Gazette, in which he appointed Zoltán Jenei as General Director of the General Directorate of the National Hospital.
Responding to an opposition objection, Finance Minister Mihály Varga told a parliamentary plenary session on Monday that tackling the epidemic “requires at least as much precision and military discipline” as Zoltán Jenei, director general of the hospital designated from November 18.
