The number of deaths from the coronavirus epidemic and the number of patients treated in intensive care units has risen, according to authorities on Wednesday, in Italy, where most of the infections examined are still under thirty years old. In one day, 14 people died from complications of the Covid-19 disease, the highest number since the first half of July.

Giuseppe Conte Meanwhile, the Prime Minister confirmed that educational institutions, which had been closed since March 10, would reopen on September 14. The Association of Directors of Schools has proposed to postpone the start of the school year as they say epidemic measures are not yet working properly in most buildings to accommodate the nearly 11 million students and teachers.
Several regions have postponed the start of the school year under their own authority, mainly where provincial elections will be held on September 20 and 21, as voting tables will be set up in schools.

In the last 24 hours, 96,000 virus tests have been carried out and 1,434 new infections have been identified, compared to 1,370 the day before. Most of the new infections, 218, were found in Lombardy, 203 in Campania and 175 in Lazio. The number of active infections is close to 35,000.

Most of the new patients are young, but at the same time, the number of people cared for in the intensive care unit and the number of deaths is constantly increasing. There are already 150 in a fan, compared to forty in early August. Fourteen patients died in one day, bringing the number of deaths to 35,577. More recently, many patients died in one day in the first half of July. Since February 21, there has not been a single day that she has not died infected.

Including both the cured and the dead, the number of diagnosed infections reached 281,583. In Italy, more than 9.4 million tests have been carried out since February. The health authorities highlighted that, despite the increase in the epidemic curve, the proportion of detected infections increased by only 10 percent in the first week of September, well below previous data.
