There is total uncertainty among GPs and primary care professionals, since until now there has not been a debate or background information on the provision of the necessary resources for their salary development in the government decision of November 25 , read in a letter to Miklós Kásler, Minister of the Hungarian Medical Chamber.

On November 25, the government made the decision to provide the necessary resources to increase the salaries of doctors and professionals working in primary care on January 1 and prepare the legal framework for the community of practice before December 31, 2020.

Two days later, Interior Minister Sándor Pintér informed the Hungarian Medical Chamber that a notable increase in income should also be provided to healthcare workers who are not covered by the legal service relationship, i.e. not affected by the salary evolution.

Since then, however, no important information or negotiations have taken place on primary care, writes Minister Emmi Miklós Kásler, president of the Hungarian Medical Chamber (MOK).

According to the letter, a modification to the financing regulations is still pending in the last days of the year, which would regulate the way in which the amount is delivered in the government’s decision and the technical deadlines, so that primary care doctors and professionals at the forefront of defense are in total uncertainty.
