The South African mutation was identified at Neumann Labs using a recently introduced PCR test by a Hungarian diagnostic company that can detect recently released variants of the coronavirus.
It was already known that a much more contagious British mutation was present in Hungary, which could lead to an increase in the number of infections. In recent weeks, 90 percent of positive tests at Neumann Labs have shown a British mutation, but no South African or Brazilian variant has been found. Up to now.

According to the laboratory, although the South African coronavirus variant can be tested in a single person at the moment, it can be assumed that this mutation has already infected several people in Hungary.
The Hungarian-owned Neumann Labs diagnostic laboratory has been offering PCR coronavirus testing since the coronavirus exploded in Hungary last spring. So far, the lab has tested more than 100,000 in recent months, 16 percent of whom have been diagnosed with a coronavirus infection.
