The epidemic situation The turnover of pharmacies in Hungary has increased enormously.

Although full retail sales are underperforming compared to previous years due to caution and restrictions due to the coronavirus epidemic, there are winners and losers in the pandemic.

According to recent incomplete data from the CSO, based on data from online cash registers, store turnover in the first two weeks of November was more than 4 percent higher than a year earlier. By the way, this is better than total retail sales in the first nine months, and non-fuel sales grew 2.6 percent in the first three quarters.

In the first two weeks of November, pharmacy billing increased dramatically, by 35 percent compared to the same period last year. Presumably this is due to purchases due to the worsening epidemic. Stores that sell food and everyday items also grew above average. The turnover of the so-called cultural and leisure products, on the other hand, fell by 20 percent. Hospitality also fell 28 percent in the first half of November as a result of the epidemic measures.
