Blikk reached out to the Fidesz politician, who said his mother and mother-in-law have been working in private accommodation on Lake Balaton since the early 1980s, nearly 40 years ago. His wife applied because the issue of his mother’s apartment had been in his name for years before he married her.

According to Mihály Witzmann, no one suffered any harm or disadvantage due to the application submitted by their relatives, and the money earned will be spent on the development of the accommodation specified in the application.

A total of HUF 60 billion was available in the announced tender plan, of which HUF 45 billion was awarded to the winners, that is, HUF 15 billion remained! It also follows that the bidding for two rooms in my mother’s apartment and three in my mother’s apartment did not cause any disadvantage to anyone and did not reduce the chances of winning.

Blikk recalls that only rural accommodations were eligible for the tender. They applied for a total of 16,000 applicants and 13,471 received one million guilders per room, for which the government allocated a total of 45 billion guilders.
