A decree has been published in Magyar Közlöny, according to which, as of next January, families with children can claim half of the investment costs for home renovation, up to a maximum of HUF 3 million from the state . The list of reforms for which support can be requested is long, exactly in accordance with the regulations. Among them, in addition to normal renovation, there is a lot, from installing air conditioning to replacing pavers and building a garage.
Families raising at least one child can apply for help from the Hungarian State Treasury. A child is considered a child in addition to a dependent or adopted dependent under 25 years of age after the 12th week of pregnancy, as well as a person with impaired work capacity who has reached the age of 25, and a minor relative if it is due to the death of the child’s parents. the claimant is the guardian of the seconded.
Restrictions also apply to the applicant, prescribe a one-year social security relationship, which was interrupted for a maximum of 30 days last year, and also accept it if the person is a retiree or full-time student. Almost all legal relationships are accepted, even working abroad, but public employees are excluded from the grant. To avoid abuse, a claimant’s own family member or company cannot issue an invoice for the works, nor can an invoice be submitted on the basis of which state support has previously been used for home extensions, for example , in the form of a check.
Invoices must be collected and sent to the Treasury within 60 days of their last issuance, but no later than the end of 2022. The application must also be accompanied by documents showing that the family is entitled to the benefit, such as a copy of the care book that proves the pregnancy.
The subsidy can be used once for the same apartment, but if it is sold, the new buyer can claim it again, as long as they are not a close relative of the seller. Therefore, the decree does not allow such a trick to quickly rewrite the apartment from one family member to another and raise the 3 million HUF several times.
