The police are investigating the animal.
Czech police are searching for a deer after the animal accidentally picked up a hunter’s rifle last week, the MTI reported. The incident occurred near Ceské Budejovice in the southern part of the country, on the outskirts of Horní Planá, where a group of hunters combed the forest in search of small game.
“The deer was scared by a dog. The animal straightened up and ran towards the hunter, passed him and tore the left finger of the man’s coat, ”the regional police wrote on their website.
The fortunately empty weapon that hung from the hunter’s left shoulder slid over the deer antlers and disappeared with the animal.
Shortly after, a mile from the scene of the incident, another hunter spotted the animal, which still had a weapon dangling from its antlers. The hunters searched the forest but could not find the rifle. Police have been searching for the weapon ever since.
