have physical evidence that Madeleine McCann is dead

In the case of Madeleine McCann, who disappeared in May 2007, the prosecutor’s office investigating the case said they did not need the girl’s body to prosecute Christian Brueckner, a 43-year-old rapist and pedophile, for having material evidence.

The suspect is in prison in Germany and has not yet been charged with the disappearance of a girl who disappeared from an apartment in the Portuguese town of Praia da Luz in May 2007. The German was also there in that complex, talking to someone on the phone for half an hour when the girl disappeared, but the police could not detect that line.

Prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters says authorities must be convinced that the girl is no longer alive so that the German can be brought to justice. According to the prosecutor, they have physical evidence that Madeleine McCann is no longer alive, writes The Sun.

The suspect, by the way, commissioned a British law firm to help him prove his innocence, but it is unknown who will pay the bill as the man has no source of income.
