THE BEGINNING
Hamilton got off to a good start and Verstappen fought a great battle with Bottas, However, the rain immediately began to fall in the first place., so the riders tried to find the best parts of the track. Leclerc was driving the Ferrari at a great pace, overtaking Norris on lap 9 and moving up in fifth place. Monaco soon attacked Sainz, who was circling the other McLaren, and successfully overtook the Spaniard.
On lap 18, Lance Stroll tried to pass Norris, however, at corner 1, the two cars collided. Norris held his position and then drove into the box at the end of the lap, while Stroll lost a lot of space and his car was also damaged.
HAMILTON JUMPS TO THE EDGE
On lap 20, Hamilton launched an attack on Bottas, and the defender was able to walk relatively smoothly to his teammate.
Gasly raced in a parade in the first third of the race, already in fifth place on lap 21 after also leading Carlos Sainz behind him.
Hamilton kept moving away from Bottas, increasing his lead to 3 seconds in a few laps. Finnish tires are out of stock. Out of the lead, Verstappen entered the pits for the first time on lap 24: the Dutch soft tires were replaced by medium tires for the second stage.

Räikkönen and Sainz fought a great battle for 10th place, and finally the McLaren driver was able to overtake the former world champion.
On lap 35, Ocon and Pérez also fought a great battle, finally the Mexican surpassed the Renault driver and, reaching last place, he was already in fifth place. In the same circle Leclerc arrived at the boxFor the second half of the race, the hard compound tires were installed on his race car.
Hamilton got into the box at the end of lap 40 on a tough tire mix, so Bottas took the lead. The Finn arrived in boxing 1 lap later and asked for soft tires to no avail. At Mercedes, it was decided to install hard mix tires on his car as well.
On lap 45, Gasly passed Ricciardo with a definitive maneuver, putting the Frenchman already in seventh position. His compatriot, Esteban Ocon, sixth place, was not yet in boxing at the time.

Sebastian Vettel was finally able to overtake Kimi Räikkonen on lap 55, snatching last place from the Finn.
HAMILTON WON WITH A BIG ADVANTAGE
Although the race got off to a bumpy start for him, Hamilton ended up winning the Portuguese Grand Prix with a staggering superiority, a 25-second lead over his teammate Valtteri Bottas.
Max Verstappen could be at the bottom of the podium, and Charles Leclerc was fourth, ahead of parade rider Pierre Gasly, who passed Sergio Pérez on the penultimate lap.
