QUARTERS TO QUARTER:
Bayern Munich (German)
Borussia Dortmund (German)
Chelsea (Angol)
Liverpool (English)
Manchester City (English)
Paris Saint-Germain (France)
Porto (Portuguese)
Real Madrid (Spain)

• For the first time in Champions League history since 1992, four coaches of the same nationality reached the quarter-finals: Edin Terzic (Dortmund), Jürgen Klopp (Liverpool), Thomas Tuchel (Chelsea), Hansi Flick (Bayern Munich) ) – all Germans.

• For the first time since the 2015-2016 season, there will be no Italian team in the top eight.

• Seven of the eight teams in the quarterfinals won their group in the fall (Porto being the exception). Of the fall group winners, only Juventus failed in the top 16. Most recently, in the 2013-2014 season, the eight group winners were quarterfinals.

• This is the third season since the 2009-2010 season, with only one Spanish team appearing in the quarterfinals. In 2010 and 2019, Barcelona and this year Real Madrid will represent the country.

BAYERN MUNICH (German) –LAZIO (Italian) 2–1 (1–0)

It was approved: a Bayern Munich, with two wins, a total of 6-2

• Robert Lewandowski scored at least five goals in BL’s ninth season of the series. The Polish forward only missed five goals in his first BL season (2011-2012) (he only scored once then).

• Bayern Munich are playing for the 19th time in the quarter-finals, which is a record. In the relevant list, FC Barcelona is still in 18th place. Real Madrid made it 17th.

• Marco Parolo is the third oldest footballer (36 and 51 days) to score in the consecutive relegation stage of the BL. The record is held by Ryan Giggs (37 years and 148 days), followed by Paolo Maldini (36 years and 333 days).

• Looking at BL’s last five seasons (beginning with the 2016-2017 competition), Lewandowski has scored the most goals (41), tied with Cristiano Ronaldo. And since the start of last season, Lewandowski has had twenty BL hits, the biggest draw with Erling Haaland. The two Bundesliga players are followed by Kylian Mbappé (11 goals) and Karim Benzema (10).

• Lewandowski has yet to miss a penalty at BL. The Bayern forward scored from the penalty spot all 13 times. In BL history, only Messi (16) and Cristiano Ronaldo (19) scored more than one penalty.

• Bayern Munich are the third club to score at least 1,000 goals in the European Cups. Real Madrid has 1169 hits and FC Barcelona has 1138 hits in all European series.

CHELSEA (angol) –ATLÉTICO MADRID (Spain) 2–0 (1–0)

It was approved: a Chelsea, with two wins, a total of 3-0

• Six of the first seven BL games of Édouard Mendy’s career have not scored a goal. The only goalkeeper to have missed at least six goals in the first week of his BL match: Keylor Navas, who remained flawless in his first seven games for Real Madrid. In addition, the Costa Rican soccer player escaped from his eighth BL match, not the ninth.

• Emerson Palmieri scored his first goal in the Champions League on Wednesday. And in the history of the series, the Brazilian footballer’s hit was goal number 9000.

• Chelsea made it to the top eight in the BL for the first time since the 2013-2014 season. Then the London Guard marched with José Morinho on the bench to the semifinals.

• Hakim Zijes scored his seventh goal for BL against Atlético, making him the second most successful Moroccan footballer of all time. Maruan Samah leads the ranking with eight hits. Sevilla en-Nessir de Sevilla has six goals. Zijes scored four of his seven hits against a Spanish rival. This was the 27-year-old winger’s first goal at Stamford Bridge in the Chelsea colors.

• Thomas Tuchel, as Chelsea champion, missed his first 13 bets, a club record. Before, not even a manager got off to such a great start on the bank of “blues”.

• Stefan Szavics screened for the third time at BL. Several times only Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edgar Davids and Sergio Ramos received red cards (4-4 times).

• Chelsea is the first English band to win three games against a Spanish rival in a BEK / BL season. The capital’s team defeated Sevilla in the autumn and Atlético de Madrid said goodbye with two victories.

• Luis Suárez has missed a goal in his last 25 road games for BL. The Uruguayan forward, who won with Barça in 2015, has 26 goals in the elite series. Suárez was a successful guest in September 2015 as a guest of AS Roma. This is BL de Suárez’s first season in which he did not score.

• Thomas Tuchel also led two teams in the BL this season: PSG and Chelsea. There was once an example of this before: Ronald Koeman was a master of PSV and Valencia in the 2007-2008 competition.

• Atlético won nine of their first ten games in two BL games with Diego Simeone, losing one. Of the last five, however, only one won, four failed.
