They now treat 6,426 coronavirus patients in hospital, but their number could rise to more than 15,000 in two weeks based on current trends, he said. Lantos gabriella health expert, board member of the newly formed New World People’s Party, who shared more forecasts based on government numbers and pandemic.hu. Based on these, in two weeks:

  • There will be 804 coronavirus ventilators in more than 15,500 hospitals (there are now 486),
  • By November 26, the number of coronavirus deaths is projected to rise to more than two hundred (then 204 deaths).

The figures will be bigger when you click.

Lantos also highlighted in the online press conference that they calculated that by postponing elective surgeries, 1,279 ventilated patients could receive “lesser compensation” in health care. This means that, in addition to the qualified intensive care nurses, the students also work as a full workforce, he explained, adding that more than 1,279 ventilator patients will no longer be able to get the 50 percent discount on the machine, unfortunately. How big it is is suggested by the experiences and data from Bergamo and New York: In the spring, neither city was able to maintain 50 percent. According to the politician-expert, the 50 percent chance of recovery could be reduced to 20 percent.

The capabilities of healthcare are not infinite, and we are close to where we can no longer maintain the quality produced so far, that is, so that every second ventilated patient can leave the machine.

– He said.

He said it was vital to take the austerity measures that had come into effect in the coming days, but he believes they should have been decided a month ago. He predicts that we will see approximate numbers until the beginning of December, only then will the plateau arrive, followed by a decline.

József Pálinkás, the chairman of the New World People’s Party told an online press conference on trends, said we were not prepared to test between the two waves of epidemics. And the gradual introduction of measures could have prevented a massive infection. Lantos added that we are also at war with the investigation of contacts, and if we put more emphasis on them, the epidemic would not have been fought as much.
