Due to the extremely bad epidemic situation, a new adjustment will come into effect from midnight, wrote the Slovak Parameter.

In Slovakia, a strict curfew will come into force on January 1, with some exceptions. What remains the same is that we will be able to leave our homes to buy vital goods: food, medicine, toiletries, pet food, fuel. In case of acute problems, you can go to a doctor or pharmacy, but it is also an exception to visit the test stations. It will also be possible to go to an insurance company or a bank, and those who take care of their close relatives will also have an exception.

However, it will be prohibited from Friday.

  • meet with different households and form the so-called bubbles. The only exception is households that are still in one place.
  • Churches are also closed and restaurants can only carry take out food.
  • Access to nature is only possible within the district of the place of residence.

Everyone who leaves home to go to work continues to make an exception to curfew, but only if they cannot work from home. Employees must obtain a certificate from their employer if they have to leave their place of residence due to their work.

The exceptions to curfew are walking outdoors with pets. The ski resorts will also be closed from midnight, but those who have already stayed can still stay in their hostels. The tighter curfew is expected to last until January 24.
