No further information on the four candidates can be provided at this stage of the recruitment procedure. Applicants were not yet required to submit an offer at this stage of the offer. As a next step in the public procurement procedure, BKK examines whether the submitted applications meet the requirements set out in the call for tenders and, based on this, a decision is made on which companies will be invited to submit a tender.

The aim of the Budapest City Council and the Budapest Transport Center is to involve as many actors as possible in public procurement. The selected economic operators will be invited after the decision of the BKK Board of Directors, scheduled for the first half of October at the latest. If, at the end of the negotiations, favorable offers are received and the Government of Hungary also provides the promised support, BKK can enter into a contract with the future contractor in February 2021, which can start the renovation works in March.

We will focus on the future of Budapest development at the Property Market RELOADED 2020 conference, where speakers will include Gergely Karácsony, Mayor of Budapest.

The Széchenyi Chain Bridge will thus be reborn in 2023. You can read a lot of additional information about the reconstruction on the BKK Chain Bridge renovation sub-page at bkk.hu/lanchid, where documentation related to public procurement is also available.
