First shipment of coronavirus vaccines arrives in Hungary

The first shipment of vaccines crossed the Hungarian border. Pfizer-BioNTech, the first approved coronavirus vaccine in Europe, arrives in Hungary. In the early morning, vaccines are the first to be delivered from the Hegyeshalom crossing to South Pest Central Hospital, in addition to police insurance. Our article is being updated.

The first shipment of vaccines crossed the Hegyeshalom border at 6 a.m. Saturday. From there, the police take care of them.

From the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, first to the South Pest Central Hospital, then to the Korányi National Institute of Pulmonology, the Semmelweis University Clinic, the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Hospital in Nyíregyháza and the Kenézy University Hospital of the University of Debrecen.

The Coronavir Press Center told MTI on Thursday: the first shipment of the first coronavirus vaccine to be approved in Europe It contains 9,750 doses of vaccine, which allows to vaccinate 4,875 health workers, since a person must receive two vaccines, with a derogation of 21 days.

They added that the first shipment of vaccines will be followed by newer ones in the coming weeks, and that they will continue to vaccinate healthcare workers for several weeks.

In the first half of 2021, the pharmaceutical authorities are expected to authorize new vaccines, and then additional vaccines may arrive in Hungary, with which mass vaccination of the population can begin, the press center said.
