Kecskemét investigators recommend prosecuting a young woman who first married in Ireland and then said yes to another man in Hungary, writes police.hu.
According to a report from a government office in Budapest, the Life and Youth Protection Branch of the Kecskemét Police Headquarters was investigating a case of double marriage. According to the investigation, a 21-year-old woman of Hungarian citizenship married a Pakistani man in Ireland almost six years ago and then returned to Hungary alone. Three years later, she also married a Hungarian man in a settlement in Bács-Kiskun county, apparently forgetting that she already had a husband.
However, in November 2020, the first legal representative of the spouse submitted an application for marriage registration in Hungary. It maintains that in order to be able to initiate judicial dissolution proceedings after registration. Later, the competent authority found information that the woman had remarried without anyone breaking the first pact.
Investigators questioned the woman, who, according to current data, also has two husbands, on well-founded suspicions of a crime of double marriage. In his case, the investigation was completed and the resulting documents were sent to the competent prosecutor’s office with a proposal for prosecution.
