Fidesz would be mostly vaccinated, DK and Jobbik voters reject the vaccine

Science and the EU trust those who would now be vaccinated against coronavirus the most, according to a recent study by the IDEA Institute for Immediate. According to a representative poll conducted between December 11 and 15, 2020, the highest rate of 57 percent would be vaccinated by Fidesz voters in Hungary. Among opposition parties, Momentum voters have the highest propensity to vaccinate, at 46 percent. Vaccine parties are also in the minority among MSZP supporters against the rejectors, and the voters of DK and Jobbik clearly reject the vaccine.

In the present research, the IDEA Institute asked the question differently than when it looked at trust in vaccines in individual countries. In mid-December, 36% of those surveyed would be vaccinated, 48% would not, and another 16% were unsure about the issue. These results are also in line with previous international research: according to the latest Ipsos research, the proportion of vaccines against coronavirus in Hungary was 46% and 45% in mid-summer.

According to the distribution by party preference, nearly 60 percent of vaccinated Fidesz voters would get vaccinated because they trust science.

In comparison, a third of the party’s supporters responded that their trust in the government was their motivation.

Rather, this is decided on a quasi-political basis by supporters of DK and MSZP, who would vaccinate themselves due to their reliance on EU licensing procedures.

According to the research, a vast majority of respondents would listen to physicians, virologists, and naturalists about treating the epidemic, although skepticism about vaccines themselves is the main reason for skepticism about vaccines themselves.
