Fidesz voters were badly affected by the Szájer scandal, with the greatest outrage sparked by the fact that the former founder of the European Parliament, the founder of Fidesz, stood up to the values of his party.

For 40 percent of Fidesz voters, the most scandalous thing about the József Szájer Brussels scandal was that the party’s founder, Viktor Orbán, one of his closest political allies, stood up to everything his party preached about family, heterosexuality and drug use – idézava Survey of the Public Institute of the Institute.
According to the poll, 64 percent of people agreed, “The Szájer affair has highlighted that the values that the ruling parties uphold serve only to convince voters, in fact, they do not consider it important, but to retain the power”. Even 16 percent of Fidesz believers think so.
Furthermore, 57 percent of pro-government voters believe that what József Szájer did is “more reprehensible.” This is so even if, by the way, 62 percent of pro-government believers say that what Szájer did are “private matters, everyone lives their lives the way they want.” However, 35 percent of Fidesza citizens agreed that what happened was a public matter, “because their actions contradict the values of their party.”
According to the survey, 84 percent of Fidesz believers are convinced that József Szájer was the victim of an intelligence operation, although even the leaders of the ruling party say there is no evidence of this.
