EU is tough on Brits – UK could fall short in major market

The European Union has made clear that there is no guarantee that the UK will be included in the list of countries eligible to export food to the EU, said David Frost, the island country’s chief negotiator on Brexit.

Previously, the EU has not refused to add the UK to this list. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the rejection would mean a blockade of the food trade between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The United Kingdom will begin the parliamentary debate on its internal market law tomorrow. The law has caused a major scandal because, if passed, it would effectively violate the Brexit Agreement and derail trade negotiations between the EU and the UK.
