A 180-room hotel is being installed on the tip of the Istrian peninsula.

Lőrinc Mészáros is building a 50 million euro hotel in Ičići near Opatija, writes 444.hu, citing an article on the Croatian Novi list.

According to the article, it was previously suspected that the Hungarian billionaire was also active in the Croatian hotel market, because in addition to the Osijek football club and his villa, he also bought a hotel company. The latter is called Riva’s Hotels & Resorts and was bought by Mészáros’s family business, Talentis.

The new Mészáros company is building a five-star hotel with 180 rooms on 20,000 square meters, the investment is expected to last two and a half years. Denis Šikljan, who led the project, told the Novi list that they would create a multifunctional space that would be open to outside visitors and that would also serve the interests of locals with a walkway.

Lőrinc Mészáros is no stranger to the accommodation market: the Hunguest chain, which can be connected to it, has a total of 26 hotels, most of which operate in Hungary, but also in Montenegro, Austria and Transylvania.
