The government will also increase the salaries of doctors and specialists working in primary care.

According to a government decision published Thursday, doctors and professionals working in primary care will receive a salary increase in 2021.

The relevant decision is made by the “Government 1848/2020. (XI. 25.) on the provision of the necessary resources to increase the salaries of doctors and specialists working in primary care in 2021 ”and summarizes the details of the government’s decision in several points:

  • The government calls on the Minister of Human Resources to create a legal framework for communities of practice and group practices before December 31, 2021 in order to organize GPs in communities of practice and home pediatricians in group practices.
  • Government For 71,558 million HUF on the expenditure side of the 2021 budget, increase the appropriation for the item “General practitioner, general practitioner care” to cover the salary increase. The deadline for this is January 1, 2021, immediately thereafter.
  • At the same time, the Minister of Finance must ensure that the necessary coverage is planned when planning the 2022 and 2023 budgets.

A briefcase notes that the spending surplus of more than HUF 71 billion is significant, especially when compared to the fact that in the budget approved in the summer of 2021, the line of expenses for general practitioners and family doctors was 139 547 million HUF.

According to the economic portal, it is not yet clear if the largest amount built in 2021 will have to be delivered over the next 2 years, or if the government has planned a further increase here as well, as in the case of doctors. For them, the salary increase will take place in 3 years.

In its announcement, the Hungarian Medical Chamber (MOK) evaluated the news of the salary increase as positive, but it is not considered acceptable that the government does not provide any resources for increasing the income of dentists and specialists working in primary care in 2021 .

In all their speeches and suggestions, the Hungarian Medical Chamber asked the dentists to cover the salary increase by naming the dentists separately, including the names of the dentists. “

They wrote.

The communication goes on to say that “the dental field is also part of primary care and its most expensive area. Any negative discrimination is unacceptable because it endangers the operation of universal care available to all, forcing doctors and patients to care. private “. Therefore, the Chamber asks the Government to “guarantee the functioning of the basic care of Hungarian society by allocating the necessary resources”.
