The minister traveled by police helicopter because he had to hurry.

Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó will arrive by helicopter to several of his official programs. In July, for example, he flew to Tolna, 140 kilometers from Budapest, so his service car was sent after him to return.

The drive would have been an hour and a half by road. The Foreign Ministry argued that Szijjártó had received four of his foreign colleagues prior to the delivery in Tolna and had only traveled there by helicopter. The same was said on Saturday in the RTL Klub question by the KDNP politician Lőrinc Nacsa, who added that Szijjártó used a police helicopter, that is, a state one, and will only do so if it is essential for the performance of his public functions.

The channel contacted the Foreign Ministry, the Interior Ministry and ORFK about how often Szijjártó travels by helicopter and how much it costs, but they did not respond.
