Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections had been identified per day and the number of deaths from the virus mostly ranged from 50 to 100 in 24 hours. The first step is partial closure, but how effective it is is questionable. Follow our news!

At the moment, the Hungarian government is not communicating anything about whether the US-German Pfizer has taken steps to acquire a new high-efficiency vaccine, writes Népszava. Although the company is negotiating directly with the European Commission, the distribution of the vaccine will be done in consultation with governments, the newspaper said.

Pfizer justified this by providing the vaccine first in the areas where it is most needed.

The British government has already announced that it has ordered a large batch of the BNT162 vaccine, which is now being licensed by Pfizer and German BioNtech and is 90% effective based on tests conducted to date.

The company says the official review will take place shortly and, if approved, it is currently planned to deliver up to 50 million doses worldwide by 2020 and about 1.3 billion doses by the end of 2021. The vaccine must be stored. to minus 75 degrees and can be used for months at this temperature. The vaccine would be delivered just in time by the company in special temperature-controlled vehicles that can freeze the vaccine for 10 days by themselves.

Although the Hungarian government has yet to communicate about this vaccine, it has already done so about Russia: Péter Szijjártó announced on Wednesday that Spputnyik V, which is also said to be 90 percent effective, will receive a sample in a week and a half. .
