The Budapest Tourism and Festival Center (BFTK) has issued a statement that this year’s Christmas market in Vörösmarty Square will be missed due to the expected peak of the coronavirus epidemic during the Advent period.

BFTK is also launching a campaign in which everyone will be encouraged to buy Hungarian applied arts products for Christmas, thus supporting artisans in a difficult situation due to the epidemic.
“BFTK supports Hungarian artisans in this difficult situation, so it is planning a campaign to help them, in the framework of which we ask the population to buy and donate artisan products also for the holidays this year,” said Csaba Faix , CEO of BFTK. “Most of the artisans who applied for the fair have a web shop where shoppers can choose their gifts online, thus supporting the Hungarian artisan and creative industry,” he added.
