When I first followed him, David Attenbourough, it was three million, even though the 94-year-old nature filmmaker signed up for the site yesterday, Thursday. Where he set a world record in 4 hours by reaching one million followers in that amount of time, beating former Insta speed world champion Jennifer Aniston by an hour and a quarter.

David Attenborough has spent his entire life traveling, exploring the wild places of our planet, and documenting the living world in all its variety and wonder. He has also witnessed the damage caused. Saving our planet is now a communications challenge. We know what to do, we just need the will. That is why we want to share this message on Instagram. In his first post, Attenborough talks about climate change and the dramatic and fragile state of the Earth, but is optimistic because he believes there is a solution to the problems. The filmmaker promised to publish videos about these problems and possible solutions in the coming weeks. Attenborough is basically using his account, initially, by all means, to promote his new TV series, Life On Our Planet or Life on Our Planet.
