Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections were identified per day and the number of deaths from the virus was mostly between 50 and 100 in 24 hours. The 65-year-old director of the Merry Stage battled the coronavirus and died at 65. Blikknek the institution’s press officer, who also stated that Tamás Böröndi had no underlying disease, was “very healthy and vigorous when he contracted the infection.”

Earlier, István Csutka, former director of the Csokonai Theater in Debrecen, spoke on his ATV Start Plus show about the fact that his colleague had been in the hospital for 19 days and was battling the disease.

After graduating from the Faculty of Theater and Cinematic Arts, Tamás Böröndi became a member of the Csokonai Theater in Debrecen in 1980. From 1984 on he performed at the Budapest Operetta Theater and then on the Merry Stage, then directed by Gyula Bodrogi. He was also a professor of musical crafts at the Rock Theater studio. In addition to directing the Merry Stage and acting, he also worked on stage design.

He is sorry for his wife Anna Götz, his twin daughters, his 88 year old mother, his colleagues and the millions who have put a smile on his face in his life! ”.
