Until now, it has been walled in as the first floor of a lakeside house in Slovakia and will be restored by the Transport Museum.

On Monday, the Miklós Horthy Turán train dining car will be delivered to Hungary from Senec, Slovakia; can be read in the announcement of the Transport Museum, which also contains more photos. Upon returning home, they immediately begin to restore the car, which has so far functioned as the floor of a lakeside house.

The repatriation and renewal was initiated by the Transport Museum, with the support of Miklós Kásler, Minister of Human Resources. The communication does not reveal exactly how much money is involved. THE 444.hu On the part of the National Culture Fund, it discovered that the head of the ministry had donated 25 million HUF for the reconstruction of the wagon.

The Turán train was used by the former governor for protocol events until 1944, later it entered the territory of Czechoslovakia. Car 9, the dining car, was used by the Czechoslovak government until the 1970s, when it was scrapped and fell into private hands.

According to the museum’s announcement, Hungary has already tried to get the train back, but so far only one carriage, number 12, has returned to the country. Completely renovated, it can be viewed in the Tata Road Railroad Historic Park.
