The website of the University of Theater and Film Arts (SZFE) was attacked, said Gábor Szarka, the new rector of the university on Thursday.
According to the administrator, this had already happened with the SZFE website in early September, but the attack was blocked at that time. This was repeated on Wednesday, rendering the website temporarily unavailable. “We are working to fix it“ – read in the chancellor’s note.

On the previous occasion, the university told hvg.hu that several virus attacks hit the site, causing it to shut down.
The students of the University of Theater and Cinematographic Arts have been blocking the buildings of the institution for more than fifty days in defense of university autonomy. Furthermore, in early October a strike by university staff was announced.
On October 13, the newly appointed leadership turned off the Internet at the university. On October 16, an internal order was issued requiring all university students to leave the university facilities at six in the afternoon. The students rejected the provision.
The SZFE teaching community protested in a statement against the fall break. It was stated that the provision would be considered null and void, according to the students, they would continue to work undisturbed in the university facilities according to the usual working hours.
