There is growing resistance from students and professors to the erosion of the autonomy of the University of Theater and Film Arts (SZFE) due to the government’s decision to continue the university as a foundation under Attila Vidnyánszky. More and more world-famous artists are joining the solidarity movement around SZFE, but the Vidnyánszky family is not expanding. On Thursday, the presidency of the Hungarian Film Academy reminded Emil Novák of his position as president, wrote 444.hu. Novák is one of the new vice-rectors of the University of Theater and Cinematographic Arts (SZFE), who was appointed to the position on Wednesday by Attila Vidnyánszky, president of the board of trustees.

Following Novák’s appointment as SZFE, director Gábor Reisz (Bad poems Y There is something strange and inexplicable) announced on his Facebook page that he would leave the Hungarian Film Academy, chaired by Novák, and establish the newsletters there as spam.

On Thursday, the other members of the board of directors of the Hungarian Film Academy, Pál Sándor, Tamás Hutlā, Csaba Bereczki and Dávid Jancsó, also resigned from the board. The organization’s presidency then called a meeting of delegates to elect a new presidency.

The notice period for the former Performing Arts leadership expired on Wednesday and the students said their goodbyes in the rain. Not long ago, the institution also received a new rector in the person of the military man Gábor Szarka, who was not admitted to the institution. The students, meanwhile, also occupied the building on Szentkirályi Street of the university and said: “We will not put aside our demands until the ministry fulfills them, we will maintain the blockade of the buildings.”
