An investigation was launched on the recommendation of OLAF against a former MEP who politicized Jobbik until his resignation in July 2012 and then continued to practice as an independent.

According to the indictment, in the exercise of his mandate between 2009 and 2014, a former deputy through unfulfilled or overvalued service contracts in order to subtract a significant part of the aid amounts.

The former MP misled the competent bodies of the European Parliament, partly independently and partly with the help of accredited parliamentary assistants, and with the help of the directors of the companies concerned, causing more than 155 million HUF in economic damage to the budget of the European Parliament.

Csanád Szegedi denies committing the crimes and, as far as we know, has not returned the money to this day. However, one of his associates testified in part during the criminal proceedings.
