Coronavirus: SZTE Department of Cardiac Surgery does not accept new patients

The Department of Cardiac Surgery of the Department of Cardiac Surgery of the Albert Szent-Györgyi Clinical Center of the University of Szeged and the Cardiology Center announced a short-term admission due to the appearance of a coronavirus, the institution announced.

Patients already treated at the clinic receive care, but no new cardiac surgery patients are admitted.

To accommodate new patients until positive or contact colleagues return, the National Center for Public Health has designated another four centers.

SZTE welcomes a new patient when all are negative on repeat evaluations (workers and inpatients). The expected date for this is early to mid next week.

Magyar Narancs has previously written that both healthcare workers and patients were infected in the cardiac surgery department of the Szeged clinic. At least 8 workers were infected, according to their report on Friday.
