In one day, the number of identified infections rose by 844 and five chronically elderly patients died, the government news site said.

In the last 24 hours, the new coronavirus infection (Covid-19) was detected in 844 new Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 13,153. Five chronically elderly patients have died, bringing the death toll to 642, and 4,117 have already recovered. The number of actively infected people is 8394 people. 42 percent of the actively infected, 58 percent of the dead and 42 percent of those recovered were in Budapest. 287 coronavirus patients are being hospitalized, 16 of whom are hooked up to a ventilator, according to the leaflet.

Due to data on new infections, Operational Strain warns that the second wave of the epidemic has already reached Hungary, the virus is spreading in the community. The government’s goal is to keep the country running and not paralyze everyday life, so the general rules that are already in place and easy to follow are now even more important. Everyone should wear a mask in confined spaces, shops, vehicles and avoid close physical contact with strangers, even with less frequent friends and acquaintances.

The Hungarian defense, based on light restrictions, has essentially changed to follow the Swedish model. Exactly how this works from an epidemiological point of view, we write here. And whether it can really be adequate to reduce financial damage is discussed in detail in this article.

The highest daily illness rate to date was recorded on Friday, when 916 new coronavirus infections were identified.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there have been 307,930 new cases of coronavirus worldwide in the last 24 hours, a record number of infections recorded in one day. The disease can be attributed to 5,500 deaths, which is why Covid-19 has claimed 917,417 lives worldwide since the outbreak.
