Most of the new patients, 265, were again reported from the capital, the second most infected area in the country, Kiev, and the second most, 247, again from the Kharkiv Oblast in eastern Ukraine. There were not so many new infections in the capital in one day. In Kiev, the number of confirmed infected people, including them, approached 13,000, and the death toll rose to 193 with six more deaths.
In the most infected region of the country, the Lviv region in western Ukraine, 190 new patients and five new deaths were registered. The number of infected people reached 14,168 and the number of deaths 386.
In Transcarpathia, the number of confirmed infections has risen to 7,385, and the number of deaths, also with five more deaths, to 259, while 3,220 have so far been defeated.
According to statistics released by the Public Health Center of Ukraine on Saturday, in Ukraine last week, that is, from August 22 to 28. 13,854 new infections were recorded and 244 died from the disease. The number of active Covid patients increased to 9,605, while only 4,005 recovered.
There are currently three active patients per 100,000 inhabitants in three regions of western Ukraine: Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk, and in the Chernivtsi regions on the border with Romania.
