Unfortunately, there are thousands of infected and more than two hundred patients with coronavirus in our city who need hospital treatment – wrote the Mayor of Szeged, László Botka, on his Facebook page.

I ask everyone to strictly adhere to the rules, to the restrictions imposed on our common security! – writes the mayor in his position according to the news of 444.hu.

Unlike the spring months, we now also have to deal with massive illnesses in Szeged. Let’s take care of each other and ourselves! – writes László Botka, who thanked the Szeged university students for their help with patient care.

So far, 470 students from Szeged have volunteered. In the clinics of the Szent-Györgyi Albert Clinical Center of the University of Szeged, 129 people want to participate in the care of patients with coronavirus, and 124 students from non-medical faculties have indicated that they would participate in administrative and delivery tasks, writes the Szeged portal .hu.

At the moment, the staff of the National Ambulance Service will be assisted by the students, and the feedback so far is excellent – said György Lázár, Dean of the Faculty of General Medicine at the University of Szeged, adding: most importantly is to keep students healthy, for volunteers to participate in special trainings.

Volunteers from the University of Szeged assist the National Ambulance Service in sampling, administration and driving in cases of suspected coronavirus. The institution wrote that third, fourth, fifth and sixth year medical students are still waiting to request patient care, writes Szeged.hu.
