In Ukraine, significantly fewer than 2.5 thousand new patients were registered and again fewer than 100 deaths in one day on Monday, the health minister said, the decline is the result of a strict quarantine that has just expired.

According to officially published data, the number of identified infections increased to 1,194,328 in the last day with 2,516 new cases and the number of deaths increased by 63 to 21,924. So far 953,297 have been cured, almost 5,800 of them the day before, reducing the number of active patients by more than 3,300 to 219,107.

On Sunday, 1,166 new patients with coronavirus or suspected infection were hospitalized in the country, half of the previous day.

Maxim Stepanov reminded the Minister of Health in a daily briefing that the so-called stricter quarantine introduced on January 8th has come to an end on Monday and the rules for the orange hazard classification from the previous adaptive quarantine are back in effect nationwide, for now, until February 28.

This means, among other things, that students can return to school desks, catering units can already receive guests during the day, shops can sell anything without restrictions, and cultural, sporting and other events are held. they can perform for up to twenty people.

The head of the ministry affirmed that the government is monitoring the development of the epidemic situation and, in a favorable case, there could be greater relief, that is, they can return to adaptive restrictions adapted to the situation of each region. This was the case in the summer in Ukraine, when regions and municipalities were classified into four different color hazard categories: red, orange, yellow and green.

Stepanov reported that from January 18 to 24. Among them, 30,612 new cases of coronavirus were registered, almost 14,000 less than the previous week. According to his information, 11,630 new patients were hospitalized, almost two thousand less than in the previous week, and the trend continued for more people to leave the health institutions recovered than the new admitted.
