The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in 3,928 new Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 94,916. The current number of new cases does not count as a record, but it is still close to a record, the trend of the 7-day moving average is increasing dramatically:
Most of the 84 deaths in the last 24 hours are elderly, chronic patients, bringing the number of deaths to 2,147. The daily death toll was at a new high of 90 yesterday, but the current 84 is the second highest number, with exactly the same number of deaths recorded 2 days ago by authorities:
The number of hospital admissions increased by 312 in one day and the number of people admitted to the ventilator increased by 23. The hospital currently cares for 5,183 coronavirus patients:
In the last 24 hours, the authorities have carried out about 18,000 tests, with a positivity rate close to 22%, which means a very low detection rate. Almost one in five patients examined is infected with the virus.
