The 5,525 new infections are about the same as the average for the past seven days, which currently shows 5,553 and shows only a small decline. It is not known how much another round of massive rapid tests has contributed to the current data.

The death toll, on the other hand, is sadly higher than ever, with 193 doubling the daily figures of two to three weeks ago.

The number of recovered people is also constantly growing, currently 70,396 people, the number of active infected people is 167,479.

7,695 patients with coronavirus are treated in the hospital, 637 of which are connected to ventilators. Both numbers are lower than yesterday. In the last week, the number of people with a ventilator decreased by 1%, while those hospitalized increased by 2%.

19% of the actively infected, 22% of the dead and 24% of those recovered are from Budapest.

Regarding the county numbers, we noticed something very interesting strange in the following map posted on koronavirus.gov.hu:

From yesterday to today, the number of infected in each region has fallen, according to the map, to 234,581, which is “only” different from the official figure of 243,581 in terms of the order of two digits.

The sum of the data for each county is smaller, while the number on the official announcement and the map shows the largest data. Before anyone thinks that the ad figure is incorrect in this case, it is worth thinking that the total number of infected cannot decrease, and that would mean a decrease of 3,475 from the 234,581 infected on Friday. By adding the numbers for the counties and the capital, anyone can verify this:

The proportion of positive tests based on recent numbers is 24%, however, the way the number and results of the massive rapid tests are reported significantly distort the statistics.
