Recent data does not yet indicate that the epidemic is coming to an end, but there are some signs that the slowdown is at work. The number of new cases registered per day fluctuates widely, but has generally not increased in recent days, which may even mean that the epidemic curve has peaked. The assessment of the situation is further complicated by the lack of information on the increase in the number of cases as a result of the change in testing practice (mainly from the more extensive rapid tests).

The number of (perhaps) stagnant cases per day has yet to ease the hospital care system, as the number of severe cases has yet to decline. At the same time, it is a good sign that the number of hospital admissions is growing at a noticeably slower rate. Ahgoy is also (although somewhat at odds with the general picture) that the number of people on the fan has stagnated.

Unfortunately, the weak signs of relief from the epidemic are not yet visible in the mortality data. In the past 24 hours, 189 coronavirus patients have died, breaking the sad daily record for the third time in a row, and we’ve been able to record a new peak five times in the last week. Based on this, the mortality statistics show a markedly accelerated trend, and if we also add how high the excess mortality is compared to the same period in recent years, we can say that the epidemic is clearly the most severe now.

More details coming soon.
