The coronavirus infection was detected in 2,316 Hungarian citizens, which is almost the highest measured in Hungary since the beginning of the epidemic. Just yesterday, the number of new cases per day was higher when 3,149 new infections were found in the country.
The death toll of 47 people is also close to a record: So far, we have lost several of our compatriots from the coronavirus on October 21 alone, when 48 people died. The deceased were elderly or chronically ill.
Currently, there are 43,600 active infections in Hungary, a record.
The number of people needing hospital care and a ventilator has also risen: 602 coronavirus patients are being treated in the hospital, 233 of whom are hooked up to a ventilator.
Most of the new infections, 423 people, were identified in Budapest, followed by Pest County, with 364 new infections. In the countryside, most of the new infections were found in Győr-Moson-Sopron county, about 165 people.
Until yesterday, 10,010 tests have been carried out, 23% of which have been positive.
