It was written that in week 43 the concentration of coronavirus measured in wastewater stagnated in most of the country’s settlements, including the capital and the agglomeration, while in some large cities (Pécs, Békéscsaba, Salgótarján, Zalaegerszeg) the trend was upward.

“The situation of the epidemic remains unchanged, compliance with preventive regulations is still necessary,” he said on the government website.

Although public opinion treats the predictive power of wastewater data as fact, based on experience to date, this does not appear to be strong at all. We’ve seen several examples in recent weeks that sewer data has projected a decline, but as we know, the epidemic is accelerating and infection rates are steadily increasing. That is why data must be handled with care.
