In the new cases we can see a decrease, the 4136 new patients lag behind the previous peak as well as the moving average of the last seven days. However, compared to 3,951 new patients yesterday, we can see a slight increase.

Deaths, on the other hand, are at a new record again, for the fifth day in a row. The new peak yesterday was 154 deaths, 165 of whom have lost their lives due to coronavirus in the last 24 hours. We hope that the stagnation in the number of cases (presumably due to limitations) also slows the increase in mortality, but in addition to the increase in the number of cases, the older age of those infected can also lead to more deaths. However, due to conflicting data and communication, it is very difficult to draw an accurate conclusion about the course of the epidemic.

The evolution of the number of hospital admissions shows that when the epidemic stagnated in Hungary, we saw a decrease in the indicator compared to the previous day; however, this can also be attributed to the high mortality rate. The number of ventilated people has dropped by 13 since yesterday.

The data reporting on the number of tests is completely chaotic, as we did not see a significant increase in the number of tests in the previous days, while the number of positive cases is explained by the operative strain when including the test results. rapid antigen.

Now these were added to the entire number of tests performed at once, so the number of tests performed increased by 196,000.

Of course, this shows an extremely low positive test rate, which is an important indicator in estimating the spread of the disease. While in previous days it was close to 70%, today it has fallen to 2%, all due to the communication method. Presumably the positive cases were added to the statistics before all the tests used to discover them.

If we subtract the 181,506 tests added at the same time, which were announced yesterday by the national medical chief Cecília Müller, the positivity rate today within the tests carried out was 27%. This also shows that the epidemic is likely to stagnate in Hungary.

County breakdown

In the last 24 hours, there were 645 new cases in Budapest and 582 in Pest county. There was no such high nominal infection in any other county, and in Fejér, Vas, Zala, Tolna and Baranya counties the number of new infections in the last 24 hours was less than 120. Last week, Budapest was the most infected , with 5,531 new cases and 4,685 new cases in Pest County. The fewest new cases were registered in Tolna County in a week, less than 1,000.

In terms of population, the situation is quite different, it was no longer the capital and its surroundings, but the county of Békés was the most infected, but the infection was also high in the counties of Vas and Veszprém. In Budapest, 316 patients reached 100,000 inhabitants in one week.
