The number of coronavirus infections in Hungary is increasing dramatically: the number of registered cases since the start of the epidemic in March has doubled in 13 days to 18,866. Fortunately, such a dynamic increase in deaths has not yet been observed.

In the last week, an average of 816 new cases per day have been registered in Hungary, the current 876 are higher, so there is no doubt that the second wave is going to decline, indeed.

The seven-day moving average of the number of deaths is 6.3, now less than 3 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The number of people treated in the hospital is now that in the second half of May. Currently, 463 infected people are treated in institutions, a figure that has doubled in 12 days.

The graph of the number of active coronavirus cases is the steepest: the 13,779 active infected means a doubling here in 10 days. 4,401 have been cured so far.

So far 626,021 samples have been taken in Hungary. 40% of the actively infected, 57% of the dead and 40% of those recovered are from Budapest. There are 463 hospitalized coronavirus patients, 35 of whom are on ventilators.

The following figure shows where many new infections have been found in the last week. Of course, Budapest continues to lead these statistics.
