Coronavirus in Hungary: after Budapest, most new cases were found in Győr-Moson-Sopron county

The new coronavirus infection was detected in 927 new Hungarian citizens in Hungary in the last 24 hours, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 22,127.

During the last day, more than 11,000 tests were retested, meaning that the rate of positive tests on new samples exceeded 8 percent.

The virus has claimed another 9 deaths at home in the past 24 hours, the youngest of whom was a 57-year-old man and the oldest a 90-year-old woman. Of the nine deceased, seven are over seventy, says the government website. With this, a total of 718 deaths have been linked to the coronavirus in Hungary since the outbreak in March.

Of the more than 22,000 infections, 4,945 have been declared cured and currently the number of active infections is 16,464.

577 coronavirus patients are being hospitalized this morning, 30 of whom are currently in such serious condition that they need a ventilator.

38% of the actively infected, 55% of the dead and 39% of those recovered are from Budapest.

Last day, most of the new infections were found in Budapest (281 people) and the second highest number of cases was registered in Győr-Moson-Sopron county (111 people).

Pest County was now third in terms of the number of new cases per day, with 90 new infections recorded. In addition, 54 infected people were found in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county and 58 in Csongrád-Csanád county, and the number of new cases per day was less than 50 in the other counties.

In the last week, almost 1,800 cases were registered in Budapest and 748 new cases were found in Pest county. The weekly number was also high in Csongrád-Csanád county and Győr-Moson-Sopron county, with more than 400 new infections in the two regions since last Friday.
