The number of new daily cases does not count as high, with more than 710-1070 registered cases reported in the previous five days. Of course, this does not mean that the epidemic will ease: on the one hand, a slow-moving epidemic curve cannot take such a sharp turn, and on the other hand, the depletion of testing capacity and ever-changing practice in the response lead to delays and under-reporting in the Hungarian epidemiological system.
The eight deceased are marked as chronic patients by the official government website. However, this time not only the elderly were victims: a 37-year-old woman with leukemia, a 51-year-old man and a 54-year-old diabetic also died.
The number of cases steadily increasing in recent weeks is also steadily increasing the number of active infected, hospitalized and those who need ventilation. Today, the number of severe nights (hospitalized) jumped high, and after 59 yesterday, this group has expanded to 71 patients today. The last time we saw such a big increase was in April.
