The new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in 2,194 new Hungarian citizens, thus increasing the number of infected people identified in Hungary to 68,127. Most of the 56 deaths were chronic elderly patients, so the number of deaths increased to 1,634 and 17,469 have already been recovered. The number of active infected people is 49,024. 27% of the actively infected, 34% of the dead and 29% of those recovered are from Budapest. There are 3,197 hospitalized coronavirus patients, 255 of whom are connected to ventilators, the official coronavirus portal said.
So far there have been more deaths than ever in the epidemic, and the graph clearly shows that the seven-day moving average continues to rise.
Today’s official announcement also contains new information in addition to daily data: the National Ambulance Service, with the assistance of the Interior Ministry, will establish another 200 sampling units across the country in a few days. The staff of the units is made up of graduate medical students, the vehicles are provided by the World Bank. The samplers are trained by the National Ambulance Service.
In addition, the communication reiterates that the government is working on additional measures of economic and family protection in addition to maintaining health protection.
In other words, the number of tests is expected to increase even more thanks to the 200 new units. On the last day, more than 15,000 tests were performed again, within which the proportion of positives was 14.4% based on the number of new cases per day.
Most infections are still recorded in Budepsten, with 535 new cases found in the capital in one day. The county of Pest was the second with 326 new cases, the number of new cases exceeded one hundred in the counties of Baranya, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén, Hajdú-Bihar and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg, that is, at the moment it seems that the spread in rural areas is now strongest in eastern Hungary.
