Coronavirus: frightening figures, 2316 infected, 47 dead in Hungary, almost one in four tests is positive

As of Monday, another 2,316 Hungarian nationals had confirmed their coronavirus infection and 47 patients had died, according to the government’s information page. Of the 10,010 laboratory tests performed in one day, almost one in four cases, 23.14 percent, was positive. The tests are sufficiently extensive according to the WHO if the positive result does not exceed 5 percent.

By Monday, another 2,316 Hungarian citizens had been diagnosed with the new coronavirus infection (Covid-19), increasing the number of people infected in Hungary to 61,563.

Most of the 47 deaths were elderly, chronic patients, so the number of deaths increased to 1,472 and 16,491 have already recovered.

The number of active infections is 43,600. 28 percent of the actively infected, 36 percent of the dead and 29 percent of those recovered are from Budapest.

2,602 coronavirus patients are treated in the hospital, 233 of them with ventilators, reported koronavirus.gov.hu.

In one day, 10,010 laboratory tests were carried out, which detected coronavirus infection in 23.14 percent.

According to the WHO, the epidemic is not controlled above 12 percent, and the tests are extensive enough if positive results do not exceed 5 percent.

The second wave of the epidemic is also increasing dramatically in Europe and Hungary, and the number of infected people is expected to increase.

According to the latest figures from Johns Hopkins University, the number of infected people has risen to almost 43 million, which means that more than 376,000 have been infected compared to the situation on Sunday morning.
