The measures also require the closure of all service providers whose work involves direct physical contact.

The Belgian leadership does not close the country’s borders, but traveling abroad is not recommended. The population must keep social relations to a minimum. In Belgium, bars and restaurants, cinemas, theaters and concert halls and gyms, including saunas and swimming pools, have been closed since the beginning of October. Distance education is only allowed for lower and upper secondary students until November 15, and in the case of higher education, distance education will continue until mid-December.

In a country with a population of 11.5 million, the proportion of new infections rose 14 percent last week, with more than 15,500 coronavirus infections reported by health authorities on average daily. The number of deaths per epidemic has increased 1.5 times in the last seven days compared to the statistics of the previous week.
