Coronavirus: 4140 infected, 103 dead in Hungary, almost a third test is positive

By Tuesday, 4,140 new Hungarian citizens had been diagnosed with a coronavirus infection and 103 patients had died, according to the latest data from the government information page. Of the 13,068 laboratory tests performed in one day, 31.68 percent showed coronavirus infection.

By Tuesday, the new coronavirus infection (Covid-19) had been detected in 4,140 new Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 118,918.

Most of the 103 deaths were elderly, chronic patients, bringing the death toll to 2,596, and 27,585 have already recovered.

The number of active infected people is 88,737. 24 percent of the actively infected, 28 percent of the dead and 28 percent of those recovered are from Budapest.

6,153 coronavirus patients are being hospitalized, 461 of whom are on ventilators.

In the last 24 hours, 13,068 laboratory tests have been performed, of which almost a third (31.68 percent) showed infection. WHO recommends that testing is adequate if the proportion of positive results does not exceed 5 percent.

The number of infected people is growing exponentially across Europe, in neighboring countries and in Hungary, and more and more people are seeking hospital care. The epidemic cannot be stopped, the goal is to stop the epidemic, writes koronavirus.gov.hu.

At the government’s proposal, Parliament today votes to extend the extraordinary legal system to 90 days. If parliament votes in favor of the proposal, new protection measures will take effect, which Prime Minister Viktor Orbán described on Monday.

Among other things, the curfew is expected to go into effect from midnight today between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., a general ban on events will go into effect, high schools and universities will switch to digital education, restaurants will have to close and stores will only be open until 7pm open. The government seeks the cooperation of citizens to implement emergency measures related to the emergency.
